c/o Intima 'Reflect on the World' . . .

CARE/of Intima:

REFLECT ON THE WORLD WITH US EVERY FRIDAY AT NOON.

No pressure, but we want to remind you that every Friday, around noon EST, we post a Crossroads blog—a short reflection that contributors from our current issue do on something from our archives.

Think of “Friday at noon” as a blip in your busy life where you take time to yourself to reflect on our small part of the universe. Pause and spend 5 minutes reading one each Friday — it’s the equivalent of a deep-breathing exercise, a short yoga stretch, a tiny palate cleanser of lemon sorbet between the complex courses served up to us every day, or a moment stolen between patients or in a waiting room when you step out of your routine. Read the titles of recent ones below, then go and read a few. If you like what you read, set up a reminder alert.

On the 'front' - or behind the line(s)?

In many sources on socio-economics, politics, health policy ... I still note the challenge to represent the INDIVIDUAL and COLLECTIVE within a figure. Of course the author's subject, purpose, the context all influence the final depiction and the message to be conveyed.

I wonder if Hodges' model can provide a starting point to explore relationships, oppositions, arguments and synergies?

Hodges' model provides an
expansive and potentially powerful 'front'
through its horizontal axis
[ HUMANISTIC ↔ MECHANISTIC ].

This axis - drawn across and through the model vertically, may make it easier(?) to analyse and synthesize the relations at work and produce a diagram?

"Jason and the adventure of 254" c/o Wellcome Collection

"A work by artist Jason Wilsher-Mills is displayed at the Wellcome Collection ahead of the opening of a solo exhibition at the London museum. "Jason and the adventure of 254" reimagines the gallery space as a hospital ward and features huge sculptures, illustrations and interactive dioramas that draw on the artist's experience of becoming disabled at the age of 11.

The exhibition's title alludes to 2.54pm at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, on August 1 1980, when Wilsher-Mills watched from his hospital bed as his parents were told he was suffering from an autoimmune condition brought on by a bout of chicken pox.

The free exhibition opens tomorrow (21st March) and runs until January." p.2.
