New online study by UCL and CRUK on vaping, smoking and other health behaviours during the COVID-19 pandemic

Good afternoon,

Our team, the UCL Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group at the Department of Behavioural Science and Health in collaboration with the UCL Centre for Behaviour Change and Cancer Research UK has just launched a new survey about health behaviours during the Covid-19 pandemic. We hope this study will aid us in developing support that may help people make health-protective changes to their behaviours at the time of this and future pandemics. We are looking to recruit UK adults to answer an online 20-minute survey now, and then a shorter 10-minute survey after 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months. The focus of this survey is on physical activity, tobacco use, nicotine use (vaping), alcohol consumption and diet.

Further information on this study can be found here: https://www.ucl-covid19research.co.uk/.

The study was approved by UCL Ethics (CEHP/2020/579).

We hope to complete recruitment into the baseline survey by 19th May, and this coming week is especially important.

The results are being used to understand the effects of the virus and social distancing measures on vaping, smoking, exercise, diet and alcohol use. The study will also help to identity ways of supporting positive lifestyle changes during the pandemics. Fill in a 20-minute online survey now and then a shorter 10-minute online survey after 1 month, 3 months, 6 months and 12 months.
